Book review

Excerpt from History the Life and Times Edmund Burke, Vol. 1

I have endeavoured to illustrate both the public and private history of a great Statesman and Political Phi iosopher. I have ventured to supply some of that in formation about his memorable works which is necessary to render them fully intelligible to an age from whose manners and habits they are daily becoming more re mote; and on the foundation which his admitted actions and writings afford, I have striven to construct an authentic and continuous narrative.
